Product Overview & Application

The Atmos GS 32 wood gasification boiler is a manually fed hot water heating boiler for burning split logs, designed for heating single-family homes and similar properties. With a boiler output of 32 kW, this model belongs to the higher-performance range of the GS series and is suitable for systems requiring a classic log wood heating system with a robust boiler construction, ceramic combustion chamber, and manual feeding operation.

Technology & Features

Combustion operates on the principle of generator gasification with an exhaust fan. The boiler body is a welded steel construction, the secondary combustion chamber is equipped with ceramic moldings, and the upper fuel chamber is designed for split logs. Operation is controlled electromechanically via a boiler thermostat, flue gas thermostat, safety thermostat, and a thermometer for the flow water. An optional ATMOS ACD 04 control unit with a touch panel is also described for the GS 32.

The large fuel shaft and the possible log length of up to 530 mm make daily operation easier. The design with preheated primary and secondary air, ceramic combustion chamber, and exhaust fan supports stable burn behavior. At the same time, the operating concept remains clear because the boiler relies on a straightforward, mechanically understandable basic control system.

System Integration & Compatibility

The Atmos GS 32 is intended for integration into water-based heating systems. For operation, the manufacturer requires a minimum return temperature of 65 °C and a flow temperature of 80 to 90 °C. The manufacturer's documentation explicitly highlights installation with a buffer tank and Laddomat or a suitable return temperature boost system. The boiler also features a cooling loop to prevent overheating and a safety heat exchanger for thermal protection.

Installation

Installation must be planned in a boiler room with an adequate supply of combustion air. The manufacturer recommends a concrete or metal foundation; for the GS 32, the manual specifies a foundation dimension of 700 x 800 mm. The connection to the chimney, heating system, and safety components should be carried out professionally according to applicable regulations and in line with the system hydraulics. A return temperature boost system must be planned for permanently suitable operation.

Notes

The boiler is intended for dry split or chopped wood with a moisture content of 12 to 20 %. Fresh or overly damp wood significantly impairs burn quality, efficiency, and service life. The GS 32 belongs to the older GS series; the GSE series is classified by the distributor as the successor with higher efficiency. A minimum buffer volume of 500 liters is specified for the GS 32.
