Pellet heating is a better alternative in many existing houses
Heating with pellets or a heat pump?
The choice between a pellet boiler and a heat pump depends on various factors, including individual needs, local conditions, and economic considerations. The budget for a new heating system in an old building is often insufficient for a heat pump, as the investment involves several follow-up investments. If radiators need to be replaced, the house needs to be insulated, or perhaps a PV system needs to be installed for the heat pump to operate efficiently, the costs increase negligibly and may not be profitable in many existing homes in the long run. Pellet boilers can be integrated more easily and cost-effectively into an existing heating system, keeping the initial cost moderate. Our modern boilers are highly efficient and provide consistent heat distribution regardless of outside temperatures. It is advisable to speak to one of our sales advisors to determine the best option for your home.
A pellet boiler works similarly to a gas or oil boiler, but uses wood pellets as fuel.
The pellets are fed into the burner via a screw conveyor, where they are burned to generate heat. This heat is then passed through a heat exchanger, which heats the water in the heating system. The heated water is then piped to the radiators or underfloor heating systems in the house to heat the rooms. An electronic control system ensures that sufficient fuel is delivered to the burner and that the combustion air supply is automatically regulated to maximize efficiency.
- Environmental friendliness: Wood pellets are a renewable fuel and have a low carbon footprint compared to fossil fuels such as oil or gas.
- Efficiency: a pellet boiler is very efficient and can convert up to 95% of the fuel into heat.
- Cost savings: Wood pellets are generally cheaper than oil or gas, so you can save money in the long run with our pellet boilers.
- Convenience: Pellet boilers operate automatically and some models are fully automatic and require little intervention.
Pellet boiler and environmentally friendly heating!
From an "environmentally friendly heating" perspective, pellet and wood heating systems remain an excellent choice. Wood releases as much carbon dioxide when burned as it absorbs during growth. It is therefore considered a climate-neutral fuel. Wood is a continuously renewable and therefore sustainable resource. Our wood and pellet boilers were therefore designed in accordance with current emissions guidelines and meet the strict provisions of the current Federal Immission Control Ordinance (BImSchV).
