Backwash filter application area
The Duo DFR is the entry-level filter in the SYR filter range. It is used as a filter fitting for drinking water installations according to DIN 1988. Installation is achieved using the fully rotatable, integrated connection flange. The Duo DFR functions in all installation positions. Its very compact design also makes it suitable for protecting individual appliances (dishwashers, water heaters, etc.).
execution
The Duo DFR is a manual backwash filter available in connection sizes DN 20 - DN 25. The integrated pressure reducer protects the installation from excessively high pressures and pressure surges. The cascade-shaped filter element is made of plastic.
Materials
The filter bowl is made of impact-resistant plastic, and the filter element is also made of plastic. The ring seals used are made of asbestos-free fiber. All materials used comply with recognized engineering standards. The plastic parts and elastomers that come into contact with water comply with the KTW recommendations of the German Federal Health Office.
Installation
DIN 1988 generally mandates the installation of filters in drinking water systems for corrosion protection. When used centrally as a whole-house water filter, the Duo DFR filter should be installed in an easily accessible location directly behind the water meter.
Technical data:
Operating pressure: min. 2 bar, max. 16 bar
Operating temperature: max. 30 °C
Installation position: arbitrary, main axis of the filter perpendicular
Medium: drinking water
Passage width: lower: 90 µm, upper: 125 µm
Flow rate: DN 20: 2.3 m³/h at 1.1 bar Δp
ABP No.: DN 20: P-IX 6738/l
DVGW No.: NW-9311BR0129
Assembly
The pipeline must be thoroughly flushed before installation. The initial filling of the drinking water system must be done with filtered water (DIN 1988, Part 2). The filter should be positioned vertically with its main axis. The filter is installed in the pipeline without tension, taking into account the flow direction (arrow on the housing).
maintenance
Maintenance is indicated by a service indicator on top of the filter. However, DIN 1988 specifies that the filter must be backwashed at least every two months. No special tools are required for servicing the Duo DFR. To perform filter maintenance, open the ball valve and turn the filter base two to three turns to the left or right. Then close the ball valve again. The water supply continues to use filtered water even during backwashing. (The filter features a fully rotatable connection flange.)
