The Water softening system The R2D2-32 was specifically designed for households with up to five people. With a regeneration capacity of up to 3200 liters at an incoming water hardness of 10°dH, it reliably ensures soft, lime-free water throughout the entire house.

Thanks to the precise volume-controlled system, regeneration is triggered exactly when it is needed – at 2:00 a.m. – and always provides sufficient reserve capacity so that you lime-free water never goes out.

Functioning according to the ion exchange principle

Essentially, the R2D2-32 exchanges the hardness-causing ions calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) for sodium ions (Na+). In doing so, the water passes through... softened water a pressure vessel filled with high-quality ion exchange resin.

The result of this process is soft water, which protects household appliances such as washing machines or dishwashers, prevents deposits in pipes, and makes skin and hair noticeably smoother when showering.

Structure and key components

The unit is housed in a sturdy cabinet with a removable lid. Inside is a GRP pressure vessel that holds the ion exchange resin. The cabinet also serves as a salt container for up to 25 kg of regeneration salt.

The pressure vessel is fitted with the water volume-controlled valve BNT 1650, which measures water consumption and takes over the precisely controlled regeneration – factory preset to delayed volume-controlled regeneration.

Automatic regeneration and easy operation

Once the resin's capacity is exhausted, the system automatically starts regeneration with a concentrated saline solution. The charged calcium and magnesium ions are released and flushed into the wastewater via a drain.

During the regeneration process, an integrated bypass supplies your home's plumbing with untreated water. tap water, so that the water supply remains uninterrupted. The ion-exchange resin beads are recharged with sodium ions and are then ready for further softening.
