Automatic level monitoring with reliable sensor technology
EFSR1 – Electronic level measurement and control controller
Short description
The EFSR1 is a compact, electronic controller for level detection and control of containers and silos. It monitors minimum and maximum levels with capacitive sensors and reliably switches conveying or filling elements on and off as needed.
Technical data
The controller operates at 230 V/50 Hz (±10%) with a power consumption of only 2 W. The maximum output power is 690 W, the maximum output load is 3 A; the device is protected by a 3.15 A fuse. The device is operable in a temperature range of 0 °C to 60 °C.
Area of application and functional principle
The device is suitable for monitoring fill levels in various containers and silos, particularly for controlling conveyors and filling devices. As soon as the minimum level is reached, the controller delivers a control signal that activates the conveyor or filling devices. When the maximum level is reached, the control signal is interrupted again.
Scope of delivery
The scope of delivery includes the control housing with integrated electronics module and two capacitive sensors (for special variants, e.g., the PWK boiler, only one sensor may be pre-installed). All necessary connecting cables and fuse elements are also included.
Connection and wiring
Always disconnect the power supply before installation. The controller is connected to the 230 V mains (L and N); the protective conductor must be grounded accordingly. Refer to the labeling on the housing for precise pin assignments and the 3.15 A fuse provided. The maximum output load is 3 A; for higher loads, an external switching relay must be provided.
Sensors and signal outputs
The EFSR1 uses capacitive sensors for level detection, which operate without contact and are suitable for a wide range of bulk and liquid media. The device supports various sensor configurations (e.g., NPN/PNP); the wiring and polarity depend on the specific sensor type and are marked on the device.
Safety instructions
During installation and maintenance, the applicable electrical regulations must be observed. Work on the device may only be carried out by qualified personnel. Before opening the housing, the power supply must be disconnected and secured against being switched on again.
Commissioning
After proper connection, the sensors must be mounted in the designated position and tested for functionality. A simple functional test consists of simulating the fill levels and checking the controller's switching response. Settings are made on the device according to the operating instructions.
Maintenance and care
The EFSR1 is low-maintenance; regular visual inspections of the connections and sensors are usually sufficient. If the sensors become dirty, clean them according to the manufacturer's instructions without damaging the measuring elements. Replace defective fuses only with suitable replacement parts of the same nominal value.
Troubleshooting
Typical problems include a lack of power, damaged sensor cables, or overloaded outputs. First, check the fuse, power supply, and sensor connections. If the problem persists, contact technical support or a qualified electrician.
Advantages at a glance
The EFSR1 offers a compact design, low-power electronics, and a robust measurement method with capacitive sensors. Its clear switching logic makes it suitable for the reliable control of small to medium-sized filling systems.
